  • LIGHT

Keep product in bright indirect light. If grown outside grow underneath canopy of tree. If grown indoors place 1-3 ft away on east facing window, or western facing window providing some protection.

    Water

Indoor: Water when top 1-2 inches of soil feels dry. During Spring/Summer water 1-2 week. While plant is growing water will be consumed quicker. Prefers moist soil but DO NOT KEEP SOIL SOGGY. Reduce watering to every 3 weeks in winter

Outdoor: Water 2-3 times per week. Outdoor elements may dry soil up quicker such as sunlight, winds, and frequency of rainfall. Reduce watering to once week in winter.

** Alocasias are sensitive to tap water that contains chlorine and fluoride. Best options are rain or distilled water

*Be vigilant of not over watering which will cause root rot

    Soil

Soil must be a chunky aroid mix, meaning do not use standard potting soil because it will suffocate roots. Amend potting soil with orchid bark, volcanic cinder, perlite or pumice, and if you want to go the extra mile include some horticultural charcoal to further prevent root rot.
